The chick pen is movable. We made it from cattle panel,and construction 'netting'. It's still not light, but the roof lifts off and then two people can move it. And YES! The chickens are now modified free-range again. They have a door that we can open from their chicken yard into the area by the barn--versatility! Lil won't go after them now that the bad influence is gone; she's such a good dog (and so happy w/o the sidekick--go figure!). Bella still likes to lunge at them and watch them scatter. :P BUT she still guards them which is the main thing. The chicks make her a little crazy, which is why the pen is so close to her yard, to get her used to them and vise versa.
Way better is right! These are great shots--thanks for the peek into your world. (I can't believe how mellow your dog is next to all those chickens!)
